Over 600 Lansing Residents Without Power on Thanksgiving Day

Lansing, MI – Over 600 Lansing residents experienced a power outage on Thanksgiving afternoon, with the outage impacting 646 customers in the city. According to officials from the Board of Water and Light (BWL), the power failure primarily affected neighborhoods on the west side of Lansing.

The outage was first reported at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, leaving many homes without electricity during the holiday. Crews quickly responded to the situation, working to restore service as quickly as possible.

BWL provided an estimated restoration time of 6:15 p.m., though the cause of the outage has not yet been disclosed. The incident left many residents hoping for a prompt return to service, especially on a day when many rely on electricity for cooking and holiday gatherings.

The utility company has yet to comment further on the cause of the disruption, but efforts were underway to resolve the issue before the evening.
