Lansing, MI — Meridian Township Police are asking for the public’s assistance after a hit-and-run incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Grand River Avenue at Campus Hill Drive in Okemos.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. According to police, the female pedestrian was crossing the road when she was hit by a car, which then continued eastbound on Grand River Avenue, fleeing the scene.
When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the roadway, with several bystanders attempting to assist her. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, though authorities have not disclosed her current condition.
Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the crash is a 2017-2020 Ford Escape, which sustained significant front-end damage. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound at high speed on Hamilton Road, behind the Playmakers running store.
Police are urging anyone with video footage or any information that may assist in the investigation to come forward.
