Car Fire Breaks Out at Lansing Auto Shop, One Worker Hospitalized

Lansing, MI – A car caught fire Wednesday afternoon at an auto repair shop on the south side of Lansing, sending one worker to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The incident occurred at Performance Auto Care, located on South Pennsylvania Avenue near Jolly Road, at approximately 12:25 p.m.

According to the Lansing Fire Department, firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke billowing from the building, with a vehicle engulfed in flames inside the shop. Crews quickly contained and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading further.

At the time of the fire, three workers were present inside the shop. All were evaluated for injuries on-site, and one worker was transported to a nearby hospital due to smoke inhalation. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Authorities have not yet released further details.

Performance Auto Care, a local auto repair shop, specializes in servicing vehicles, but the damage to the facility or the vehicle involved remains unclear. Fire officials are continuing their investigation into the incident.
