LANSING, Mich. — Consumers Energy has announced a scheduled power outage for customers in Bath Township on Friday night into Saturday morning. The outage, affecting over 3,000 homes and businesses, is set to take place from 11:55 p.m. Friday, April 25, to 6 a.m. Saturday, April 26. The interruption is necessary for workers to replace utility poles and equipment as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to improve service reliability in the region.
The area impacted by the outage includes homes and businesses located north of Lindburg Drive, east of US-127, south of E. Chadwick Road, and west of Peacock Road. In the event that the work needs to be rescheduled, the outage will occur at the same time the following night, on Saturday.
Consumers Energy officials emphasize that the project is part of their broader Reliability Roadmap, designed to strengthen the local electric grid and reduce the frequency and duration of future outages in the area.
“We understand that even a scheduled power interruption can be inconvenient, and we thank our customers in advance for their patience,” said Chris Laird, vice president of electric distribution at Consumers Energy. “This work is part of our commitment to building a smarter, more resilient electric grid that will benefit the entire Bath Township community.”
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly for the temporary loss of power, including charging devices and arranging for backup power if necessary. Consumers Energy assures customers that the upgrades will lead to long-term improvements in service reliability.
