Lansing, MI – East Lansing property owners are being reminded to pay their winter property taxes before the deadline of February 14th. Payments not received by the due date will incur a 3% penalty.
Those who miss the deadline risk further complications, as all unpaid real property taxes will be forwarded to Ingham and Clinton counties on March 1st, where additional penalties will be applied.
There are multiple ways for residents to pay their taxes:
- Online: Property owners can make payments using a credit card or e-check through the city’s designated payment portal.
- Mail: Payments can be mailed to East Lansing Treasury, 410 Abbot Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823.
- In Person: Payments can be made at the treasury window inside East Lansing City Hall.
- After Hours Drop Box: An after-hours drop box is available in the north parking lot of City Hall for payments outside regular office hours.
It is important to note that payments must be received by midnight on the due date to be considered on time.
