Fatal Stabbing at Gratiot County Nail Salon Leaves One Dead, Suspect Arrested

Lansing, MI – A stabbing at a Gratiot County nail salon Wednesday afternoon resulted in the death of a 48-year-old man and the arrest of a 30-year-old Alma man, authorities reported.

At approximately 12:59 p.m., the Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for an active assault at LA Nails, located in the 7400 block of N Alger Road in Pine River Township, just outside the city limits of Alma. Upon arrival, deputies, along with officers from the Alma Police Department, discovered the victim, who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man from Alma, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He is currently being held in the Gratiot County Jail without bond. Authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The identities of both the victim and the suspect have not been released, pending the suspect’s arraignment in the 65B District Court. The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
