House Fire in Delhi Township Leaves Home Uninhabitable, No Injuries Reported

Lansing, MI — A fire in the 2600 block of Galiot Ct in Delhi Township early Tuesday morning caused significant damage to a local home. According to Delhi Township Assistant Fire Chief Leo Allaire, the fire started in the kitchen around 5:50 a.m.

Fortunately, no one was inside at the time, and there were no injuries reported. Firefighters from multiple departments responded to the scene, quickly working to contain the blaze. However, despite their efforts, the home is now considered uninhabitable, and the residents will need temporary housing while repairs are made.

The fire could have been much more devastating had it not been for a timely intervention by the homeowner. The individual, who was not at the property, noticed the flames through a security camera feed and immediately alerted local authorities by calling 911. The quick response to the homeowner’s call helped prevent further damage to the property.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire, which remains under scrutiny as fire crews continue to assess the extent of the damage.
