The Michigan House of Representatives Has Voted to Suspend the State’s Gas Tax | Latest News!

LANSING, Michigan — When it comes to the price of gas these days, every penny counts. The state House has voted 63-to-39 to postpone Michigan’s 27-cent-per-gallon gas tax for six months in order to provide motorists some respite at the pump.

The bill is expected to pass the State Senate in Lansing next week. Governor Whitmer opposes the suspension of the state gas tax but has requested Congress to put a hold on the federal 18-cent-per-gallon tax.
