LANSING, Mich. – A 36-year-old Lansing man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 45-year-old man early Sunday morning at a local men’s club.
Adrian Wilkerson, who has a history of felony convictions, was charged with open murder following the shooting of Christopher Bonilla Sr. at the Centerfolds men’s club, located on South Pennsylvania Avenue. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 16.
In addition to the open murder charge, Wilkerson faces multiple other charges, including possession of firearms by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed weapon (second offense), felony firearm (two counts), and habitual offender (fourth offense). According to authorities, Wilkerson’s criminal history includes three prior felony convictions, with charges for concealed weapons dating back to 2007 and 2008, as well as a 2018 conviction for witness retaliation.
Wilkerson’s arrest has drawn attention due to his history of violent offenses and his alleged involvement in this latest tragic event. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on gathering additional evidence and determining the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Wilkerson is scheduled to appear in court on March 6 for a preliminary examination before Judge Cynthia Ward. The upcoming proceedings will offer more clarity on the case and any further legal actions taken.
As the community grapples with the loss of Bonilla, local authorities are stressing the importance of addressing gun violence and repeat offenders in an effort to prevent future tragedies.
This incident highlights the ongoing concerns about firearm access for individuals with a history of criminal behavior and the dangers posed by repeat offenders. Authorities have not yet provided further details on the specific events leading up to the shooting.
For now, the Lansing community remains shaken by the loss, with more information expected to emerge as the legal process unfolds.
