LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Mayor Andy Schor officially launched his campaign for a third term on Tuesday evening, gathering supporters at Gregory’s Soul Food on the north side of the city. Schor, who first won the mayor’s office in 2017 and was re-elected in 2021, outlined his vision to continue driving growth and progress in the capital city.
Before his tenure as mayor, Schor served in the Michigan House of Representatives and as an Ingham County Commissioner, bringing years of political experience to his leadership role. In his announcement, Schor emphasized the city’s momentum under his leadership, pointing to billions of dollars in job creation, economic development, and housing growth that have shaped Lansing into a more vibrant and thriving community.
“I’m proud of the work we have done, but I know there is still more to do,” Schor said in a statement. “Lansing is a growing, vibrant city with incredible amenities, support services, and economic development happening in every corner. That’s why I’m running again — to continue this progress and ensure Lansing remains a city of opportunity for all its residents.”
Schor’s campaign release highlights key issues he plans to focus on during his third term, including job creation, economic development, housing, and improving city services. Schor’s record of accomplishment and his ongoing commitment to building a stronger Lansing appear to be central themes of his re-election push.
As Schor embarks on his campaign, his supporters will likely be looking for signs of continued momentum and whether his vision resonates with the residents of Lansing as they head toward another election season.
