Lansing Police Identify Body Found in Oneida Township as Missing Man, Investigate as Homicide

LANSING, Mich. — The Lansing Police Department has confirmed that the body discovered in Oneida Township on Sunday afternoon belongs to 28-year-old Raequan Brown, who had been reported missing nearly a month ago. Brown was last seen on February 28, and his disappearance sparked concern among family, friends, and the local community.

According to authorities, the body was found around 4:00 p.m. on March 24 in the area of Cochran Road near Eaton Highway in Oneida Township. The discovery was made by a hunter who was searching for deer sheds on private land. Upon finding the body, the hunter immediately contacted law enforcement.

The Michigan State Police First District took to social media to confirm the discovery, noting that the body was found on private property. The Lansing Police Department, in collaboration with Michigan State Police, is now treating the case as a homicide.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic discovery,” said a spokesperson for the Lansing Police Department. “Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working tirelessly to determine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Brown’s death.”
