LANSING, Mich. — The Lansing Police Department (LPD) has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred on December 29, 2024, as 36-year-old Deandre Luckey.
According to LPD, officers responded to a shooting incident around 8:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of Belle Chase Blvd. Upon arrival, authorities found Luckey and a 25-year-old man both suffering from gunshot wounds. Luckey was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The 25-year-old victim was also taken to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Police have detained a person of interest in connection with the shooting. Multiple firearms were reportedly recovered from the scene, but the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident or the person of interest.
