Lansing Woman Faces Assault and Gun Charges After Meridian Mall Shooting

LANSING, Mich. — A 19-year-old Lansing woman has been arrested and charged following a shooting that injured two individuals in the parking lot of Meridian Mall on Friday afternoon.

Alexia Isabel Jimenez was taken into custody after authorities responded to reports of gunfire near Dick’s Sporting Goods at approximately 1:25 p.m. Meridian Township Police, along with other agencies, arrived to find the scene cleared, but two victims were later identified and treated at a nearby hospital.

Jimenez faces multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm possession. She was arraigned on Sunday, with bond set at $1 million.

In the aftermath of the incident, police sought public assistance to locate two vehicles believed to be involved. One vehicle has since been recovered. The remaining vehicle is described as a burgundy sedan, possibly a Chrysler 300 or Toyota Camry, with tinted windows and dark rims.
