One Person Hospitalized After Fire Breaks Out at Lansing Auto Repair Shop

Lansing, MI – A fire broke out at an auto repair shop on the south side of Lansing Wednesday afternoon, sending one person to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

The Lansing Fire Department responded to the scene on South Pennsylvania Avenue near Jolly Road at approximately 12:30 PM. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke emanating from the garage area of the business. Crews were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, determining that a car inside the garage had caught fire.

At the time of the fire, three individuals were inside the shop. Two workers were evaluated by emergency medical personnel but did not require further treatment. The third person, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet determined how it started. The Lansing Fire Department continues to look into the incident.
