Pontiac Businessman Found Dead in Shooting; Investigation Underway

PONTIAC, Mich. — The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old businessman in Pontiac on Monday evening.

Authorities say Sam Simko, a resident of Commerce Township, was found dead at his business located on the 1000 block of University Drive. Deputies were called to the scene at approximately 8:17 p.m. after Simko’s business partner discovered him with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are currently working to gather details surrounding the shooting and any potential motives.

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in solving the case. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be reported anonymously by calling 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to piece together the circumstances leading to Simko’s death.
