President Stabbed During Staff Meeting at Muskegon Area Manufacturing Company

Lansing, MI A violent attack at a Muskegon-area manufacturing company has left the president of Anderson Express in serious but stable condition. The incident occurred Tuesday morning at the company’s headquarters on Mill Iron Road in Fruitport Township, when an employee allegedly stabbed the president during a staff meeting.

According to the Fruitport Township Police Department, the attack took place around 9:20 a.m. during a regular meeting with employees. The suspect, identified as a 32-year-old man from Walker, Michigan, reportedly approached the company’s president and stabbed him in the side with a knife.

After the stabbing, the suspect quickly fled the scene, getting into his vehicle and driving away. Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect just 15 minutes later. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Witnesses described the suspect as having a “quiet demeanor,” suggesting he was not someone who typically attracted attention in the workplace. Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the attack, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers are reviewing video footage from the company to gather more information about the events leading up to the stabbing.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. As of the latest update, he is in serious but stable condition. Police have not provided further details regarding the extent of his injuries.

The suspect is currently in police custody, and detectives are continuing to question him as they attempt to uncover the motive behind the attack. Fruitport Township Police have asked anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

“We are reviewing all available evidence, including video footage from the scene, and we urge anyone who may have witnessed something suspicious or unusual prior to the stabbing to contact us,” said Detective Sergeant Bryan Rypstra.
