Semi-Truck Nearly Falls Off Bridge on I-69 in Snowy Conditions

LANSING, MI — A semi-truck narrowly avoided falling off a bridge on Southbound I-69 Friday afternoon, creating a tense situation for both drivers and emergency responders. The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. near Stine Road in Eaton County, as snow and icy conditions made the roadways hazardous.

According to Eaton County Central Dispatch, the truck was traveling on the southbound side of I-69 when it lost control in the snowy weather. The vehicle came dangerously close to the edge of the bridge but ultimately remained on the roadway.

As a result of the accident, a portion of I-69 was temporarily closed to allow emergency crews to respond and clear the scene. The highway has since been fully reopened, with traffic resuming its normal flow.

Authorities have not reported any serious injuries, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation. The incident highlights the challenges posed by winter weather conditions, with drivers urged to remain cautious on slippery roads.

Snowy and icy conditions have been impacting Michigan’s roadways throughout the week, and officials continue to warn motorists to drive with care, especially during inclement weather.
