Teen Arrested After Shooting Incident in Jackson

Lansing, MI — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a 17-year-old injured early Saturday morning in Jackson. According to the Jackson Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment building in the 200 block of Blair Park Drive around 1:58 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers found the 17-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach. The teenager was quickly transported to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is currently in stable condition, police said.

Through their investigation, authorities identified the 15-year-old suspect and learned he may have fled to the Lansing area. Later that day, law enforcement officials located and pulled over a vehicle in Lansing, finding the suspect inside. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Jackson County Youth Center, where he is being held pending formal charges from the county prosecutor.

The Jackson Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which remains unclear at this time.
