Two Arrested After Fight and Gun Seizure at Everett High School in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. — Police arrested two individuals, including a 17-year-old student, and confiscated a handgun following a reported fight at Everett High School Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Lansing Police Department, officers were dispatched to the school at approximately 12:39 p.m. in response to a disturbance involving a knife. While en route, they were informed that someone armed with a gun was running behind the school building.

Upon arrival, officers initially found no one involved in the altercation. However, school officials informed them that a handgun had been confiscated from a 17-year-old male student inside the school.

The police seized the firearm and took the teenager into custody. Further investigation led officers to a nearby residence on the 1800 block of Osband Avenue, where a 50-year-old woman believed to be connected to the initial fight was located and arrested.

Both individuals have been charged with weapon-related offenses. Authorities have not released additional details about the incident.

The Lansing Police Department is continuing its investigation and encourages anyone with information about the event to come forward.
