Woman Killed in Head-On Crash in Brandon Township

LANSING, Mich. — A 26-year-old woman from Oxford was killed Saturday night following a head-on collision in Brandon Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:41 p.m. on May 24, on Baldwin Road near Seymour Lake Road. Authorities report the woman was driving a Chevrolet HHR southbound in the northbound lane when she collided with a 2007 Hummer H3 driven by a 16-year-old boy from Clarkston.

The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. The teenage driver, who was wearing his seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials noted that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the incident.
