Woman Shot While Driving on I-94 in Detroit; Children Unhurt

Detroit, MI — A woman was shot while driving two children along Interstate 94 in Detroit on Thursday afternoon, according to Michigan State Police (MSP). The shooting occurred near the Mt. Elliot exit around 1:40 p.m. when the driver, a female, contacted dispatch to report that she had been shot while traveling on the freeway.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, though her condition remains unknown at this time. Investigators have not yet released details regarding the suspect or the motive behind the shooting. No information on the suspect’s vehicle has been made available either.

The Michigan State Police are urging anyone with information that could help with the investigation to contact their tip line at 855-MICH-TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP. Authorities continue to search for leads in the case.
