Lansing, MI – The Michigan State Police are once again showing their commitment to community support this holiday season with the return of their “Stuff a Blue Goose” event. On Sunday, local troopers in Ionia spent the day filling their patrol cars with donations of non-perishable food items and new toys, all to benefit families in need through the Toys for Tots program.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents of Ionia came together to contribute to the cause, dropping off items to help brighten the holidays for children and families who may be struggling. The event, held at a local location, aimed to provide a holiday boost to those who could use a helping hand during the festive season.
Trooper Travis Rogers, one of the officers organizing the event, expressed the positive energy that surrounded the day. “Everybody’s bringing in toys, everybody’s enjoying giving, and that’s what we really like about this time of year,” Rogers said. “Everybody’s in a cheerful mood and trying to help other people out. Everybody could use a helping hand this year and every year, so, everybody’s just willing to donate.”
The event not only provided an opportunity for residents to give back but also fostered a sense of camaraderie between local law enforcement and the community. Michigan State Police are planning to host another donation drive next Sunday, December 8th, in Ionia, continuing the tradition of generosity and support for local families in need.
As the holiday season approaches, the “Stuff a Blue Goose” event serves as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of giving back. For many, this initiative will bring joy and hope to their homes this Christmas season.
