Lansing, MI — A 55-year-old man from Grand Ledge was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Eaton County late Friday night, according to Michigan State Police.
The incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. on December 6, near the intersection of St. Joseph Highway and Cochran Road in Oneida Township. Authorities say the driver was traveling eastbound on St. Joseph Highway when he lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the road, striking a fence and a tree before splitting into two pieces.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was ejected upon impact. Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that speed and alcohol may have played a role in the crash. Michigan State Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Those with details are asked to contact the Lansing Post at (517)-322-1907.
The crash remains under investigation.
