Major Traffic Shifts and Ramp Closures Begin on US-127

Lansing, MI – Starting March 19, drivers traveling through Lansing can expect significant traffic changes and road closures as crews begin essential repairs on US-127. The project, which will affect both northbound and southbound lanes, is scheduled to run from I-96 to Dunckel Road and is expected to continue until mid-June.

To facilitate the repairs, all traffic will be shifted onto the northbound side of US-127. Motorists will need to navigate the newly configured lanes, which may result in delays during peak travel times.

In addition to the lane shifts, two key ramps will be closed for the duration of the project. The eastbound I-96 ramp to northbound US-127 will remain closed throughout the repair work. Furthermore, the northbound US-127 ramp to westbound I-496 will also be closed, and it is anticipated that this closure will last until November.

Local drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and stay informed about ongoing construction updates to avoid disruptions in their travel plans. As always, it’s important to exercise caution and remain alert in work zones.
