Lansing, MI – Nine members of the Lansing Fire Department recently participated in the American Lung Association “Fight for Air” stair climb, a fundraising event aimed at supporting efforts to combat lung disease.
According to Lansing Professional Firefighters, participants completed a challenging race involving 100 flights of stairs while wearing full firefighting gear and equipment packs.
Officials said the Lansing team collectively raised more than $1,000 for the cause through their participation in the annual event.
The fundraiser is held each year to support lung disease research, education, and awareness programs, while also honoring the physical demands placed on firefighters during emergency response situations.
