Electors meet Monday to vote on 2020 presidential election; security measures in place

Monday is the day that electors gather across the country to officially vote to declare Joe Biden and Kamala Harris the winners of the 2020 presidential election, and in some areas, extra security measures are being taken to protect those who are serving as electors.

Fox 17 News in Grand Rapids reports that an elector from Kalamazoo County will receive a police escort to Lansing, and although details aren’t being released, the state police have said that they will be on standby in case they are needed.

The electors will begin the process at 2 pm Monday in the chambers of the state Senate.
