Free drive-thru mobile food pantry for residents

LANSING, Mich. – Today the Local Union 333 Plumbers and Pipefitters teamed up with local and state government officials to host a free drive-thru mobile food pantry.

The event offered traditional holiday foods and pies that were available to all local residents on a first-come, first-serve basis- an event. Governor Gretchen Whitmer called, “It’s an amazing thing.”

Gov. Whitmer and Mayor Andy Schor both handed out boxes and pies. Business Manager, Price Dobernickl of Local 333 said was, “A great to have them here, it wouldn’t be possible without their help.”

The drive-thru began at 10 a.m. this morning on Capitol Avenue near City Hall Plaza. and lots of locals came by to gather their holiday dinners and were very grateful.

“I have four kids at home and I’m pregnant with number 5 so, I was like oh my goodness, this is awesome. I hadn’t even thought about what I was going to make for Christmas dinner yet,” said local resident, Angela Lopez
