LANSING, Mich. — A 32-year-old man from Grand Ledge was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly firing a gun near a woman and three children following an attempt to run them off the road. The incident occurred in Roxand Township, located north of Charlotte and southwest of Grand Ledge.
According to the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 8000 block of N. Cochran Road at around 1:29 p.m. after receiving a call from a woman claiming she had been shot at. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the woman and three children had been outside the home when a man reportedly pointed a gun at them and fired three rounds nearby.
The Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that the man had also attempted to run the group off the road with his vehicle earlier in the day. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the individuals involved were unharmed.
Authorities arrested the suspect in the driveway of the residence upon their arrival. A semi-automatic firearm and multiple spent casings were recovered at the scene. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Eaton County Jail, where he awaits a review of criminal charges.
Both women involved in the incident were familiar with the suspect, who was identified as a local resident. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials have not released additional information at this time.
