Lansing, MI – A driver in Lansing was cited after police said they were caught traveling nearly twice the posted speed limit during a speed enforcement operation.
The Lansing Police Department said officers monitoring areas where aggressive driving has been a concern stopped a driver who was traveling 88 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The department shared the incident as a reminder that officers continue focusing enforcement efforts on roads where speeding and reckless driving are most frequently reported.
Police said the goal of targeted speed enforcement is to improve roadway safety and reduce dangerous driving behaviors that put other motorists, pedestrians, and passengers at risk.
The Lansing Police Department encouraged drivers to slow down, follow posted speed limits, and make safe decisions while behind the wheel.
