Man Killed in Bicycle Crash with Truck in Livingston County

Lansing, MI — A 22-year-old man from Howell died after being struck by a truck while riding his bicycle home from work early Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on southbound Old US-23 Highway near Bergin Road, according to the Michigan State Police from the Brighton Post. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was riding his bicycle when the crash took place.

Authorities say the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and Hamburg Township Police were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle based on parts left at the scene. Within two hours, investigators located a white Ford F-150 driven by a 63-year-old man from Brighton. The suspect was taken into custody, though it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. At this time, police have not shared further details about the man’s identity or the suspect’s charges.
