Michigan ranks third in the nation for the most Christmas Trees sold each year

According to the Michigan Christmas Tree Association, Michigan was the third-largest Christmas tree producer in the United States, selling about 2 million trees each year.

Amy Start, the Executive Director of the Michigan Christmas Tree Association, said in light of the COVID-19 pandemic farms across the state were initially worried about sales in 2020, but they instead saw a record-breaking year.

“That first weekend after Thanksgiving was booming,” Start said. “If people are planning on going to a farm they better call ahead and make sure there are still trees available.”
